Testing Policy
1. Major test dates will be posted well in advance.
2. If you were in class any day after the test was posted, you will have to take the test if you are present on the test date, EVEN IF YOU WERE ABSENT THE DAY BEFORE. The day before the test is usually spent reviewing. Contact a classmate, if you are truly concerned about what we did in class. Better yet, check the Google Classroom and the test objectives found on this website.
3. Any printed review material will be distributed in class AND published under PPTs/Links. Sometimes, there is no printed material; instead, a game or activity will serve to review. Again, this will not involve NEW MATERIAL, just a review of concepts taught in prior class periods.
4. Study guides are not copies of the test. They summarize the covered content that will be tested. Just because you don't have a printed study guide does not mean that you don't have to take the test. All study guides will be published on this website. Some study guides MAY look a lot like the test (questions very similar) but EXCLUDE answers. For this type, the teacher will NOT give the answers. NO TESTS WILL BE MEMORIZATION ONLY! TESTS WILL BE MOSTLY APPLICATION of concepts learned and practiced in class and for homework.
5. Make up tests will be given after school or before school; sign up for an appointment on the makeup schedule. MAKEUP TESTS MAY BE IN A DIFFERENT FORMAT AND CONTAIN DIFFERENT QUESTIONS FROM THE ORIGINAL ONE. Your work schedule is not my concern. Don't be absent, and you won't have to make up any tests!
6. Unannounced quizzes may be given at any time. Study your notes every day. Don't be caught off guard and say that a pop quiz is "unfair." EXPECT A QUIZ AFTER A HOMEWORK ASSIGNMENT.
CLASSROOM RULES:
1. Be in your seat when the bell rings and begin the Bellwork assignment. If you are in the room but not in your seat, you will receive a TARDY. Take care of your business BEFORE the bell! (Restroom, sharpen pencils, talk to other teachers, etc.)
2. Talk only after being recognized by the teacher or when working in groups.
3. Bring all needed materials to class every day. This includes a scientific calculator, pencil, and paper.
4. Show respect to others and to the equipment.
5. Behave in a manner that allows other students to learn.
6. All cell phones will be confiscated and turned in to the office, unless authorized for use by the teacher during an educational lesson. No exceptions!
NO STUDENT WILL BE ALLOWED TO PARTICIPATE IN THE NUMEROUS LABS AND ACTIVITIES of this class until the Agreement Form is signed and dated by both student and parent/guardian and returned.

Rules were made for a reason! Read the handbook!
BELLWORK:
Bellwork may be checked daily or weekly. Not all bellwork is graded. You should be working on BW when the bell rings. BW is NOT optional and serves an important purpose. DO NOT wait and copy the answers as we go over the assignment! BW may be picked up for a daily grade. You will receive a 0 if you DO NOT do your BW each day.
PLEASE NOTE SCHOOL TARDY POLICY:
1st time: Warning from teacher
2nd time: Warning from principal
3rd time: After school detention
4th time: ISS
Don't be tardy!
No excuses!
Yo
You will be counted tardy if you come to class without an admit slip from the Attendance Office and have to go get one!
YOU are responsible for your learning and for your behavior in class!
NATIONAL SCIENCE SAFETY RULE:
No eating, drinking, or gum in the lab!
Serious accidents have been documented.
(The only exception is when food is part of the lab activity, which may never occur.)
